Operating Manual for Spaceship Earth
The more I ponder about the future, the more I find myself searching in the past for people who thought about the future. One of these individuals is R. Buckminster Fuller. If you’re not familiar with “Bucky” Fuller, then this book, first published in 1969, is great introduction to the man and his thinking. And like with any great thinker, his thoughts are still relevant today. He still influences our future through people like Neri Oxman, who cites him as one of her heroes. I’ve also picked up a book about different histories of the future, which I will post about - in the future.
There is an expression that I heard on an episode of Wiretap that goes “Today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday.” I’m not sure how it directly relates to this post, but I like the meaning behind it.
